A Bit of Prepping from Quilts....etc.

Yesterday was spent cutting out star blocks and getting applique templates traced – the later of which still needs to be finished – I will start to sew them today or tomorrow as that lower star looks a bit brown in places here is a close up in better light – green with gold and […]

Daisy Chain from Quilts....etc.

Well this little table runner is still in the works – I must admit that I have disliked binding this little thing to the point of not picking it up for days LOL – but yesterday I finally got started again and made headway – one or two more sessions and I should have it […]

More Cutting and Quilting from Quilts....etc.

Cutting out this quilt is going to take awhile because I get bored with that after a little bit and keep taking breaks and don’t remember to get back to it!  It will get done – one day LOL – but this tray did get a little more in it – all of the 1.7/8th […]

Cutting and Other Stuff from Quilts....etc.

Yesterday I was busy cutting on the quilt kit “The Rose Garden” that I started last month and then put aside to work on my 3 RSC21 quilts that I am making and here it is almost the end of the month and I’m first getting back to the cutting – and there is a […]

A New Bag & Quilting from Quilts....etc.

I mentioned some time back that I was looking for a tote bag to stick the knitting in to take along when I have appointments and such and found one on Amazon – it finally arrived after getting lost for awhile from the bad storms.  It is a nice bag but I’m not totally happy […]

Daisy Chain Quilted from Quilts....etc.

Turned out my thread worked just fine with this machine- I don’t know why it didn’t the last time I tried it.  In the afternoon I set out to get the runner machine quilted – it didn’t take long it was all straight lines that I did and no threads to tie off as I […]

Daisy Chain from Quilts....etc.

I thought now that I am just about done with the applique block I needed to get Daisy Chain the table runner basted and figure out if I was hand quilting it or machine quilting it – before I get back to cutting out the quilt kit that I started a couple weeks ago The […]

Daisy Chain from Quilts....etc.

Daisy Chain now has all the papers out, and is pressed ready to be finished whenever I get it basted that is.  The backing was made out of left over fabric strips that made the hexies – I had used a jelly roll and some yardage for the gray. On the table to check for […]

Let’s Call it a Finish from Quilts....etc.

Well I just can’t get into Daisy Chain anymore – these stiff papers in this piece are driving me crazy – I got them from Paper Pieces back when I really thought I wanted to go big with this pattern but I find I much prefer the light paper pieces from Laundry Basket quilt – […]

Daisy Chain from Quilts....etc.

Daisy Chain got a little more work done on it – nearing completion as it is a small piece – I was asked was I going to hand quilt it in a hoop or on the frame and actually I might just machine stitch this one as it is small and save my hands for […]

Patchwork and Quilting from Quilts....etc.

I got a start on my yellow February blocks for the RSC21 challenge and I really was amazed to find I didn’t have a lot to choose from in big pieces – I had enough of my 2.5 squares in my scrap box to make my 36 patch blocks but I’m going to hold off […]

Pretty Reds from Quilts....etc.

Yesterday was a busy day and I managed to work on three projects before the end of the evening.  I started out with more cutting on The Rose Garden – it is coming along pretty well now and I will be taking a break from it now for just a little bit as the new […]

Morning Glory from Quilts....etc.

Quilting in the middle of Morning Glory is more interesting than quilting the borders but the straight lines in the border do add a lot to it.  But quilting in the middle goes slower for sure with all the applique pieces in it. I worked a little on Daisy Chain again – the red stands […]

Started to Cut from Quilts....etc.

There is a lot of cutting do as I mentioned and I’m taking my time with it doing just 3 layers at time.  I have found this kit has plenty of fabric and well be some left over – unless I read the directions wrong!  We will see once piecing begins.  First through I’m getting […]

Ready to Start the Cutting from Quilts....etc.

I would like to use my accuquilt  for cutting but with this new quilt “The Rose Garden” I’m going to follow the instructions so I can make sure to get the most out of the fat quarters provided in the kit – it will take a little longer probably but that is the way it […]

Daisy Chain Baby -- Part II {Finished Quilt} from Little Bunny Quilts

I realized this week that I had to get this quilt finished -- and quick -- because little lady is likely to arrive any day! So this week I did got a step or two of finishing done every day until I sewed the last stitch yesterday -- washing and pressing the backing, getting the quilt layered and basted, quilting and trimming, and finally binding!

Here is little lady's quilt!

As mentioned previously, this quilt is the Daisy Chain pattern that was our quilt along pattern in 2019 (that will eventually be available as a stand alone pattern) in the baby size ...

Daisy Chain Baby -- Part II {Quilt Top} from Little Bunny Quilts

Over the weekend, I finished up the quilt top of the Daisy Chain baby quilt I have been working on.

All I had to do was sew the nine blocks together...

... and then add the borders!

I actually just squeaked by with enough green fabric for the borders! I still have plenty of the pink fabric that I used for the stars, so I will be using that for the binding.

On my task list this week is ordering some flannel for the backing!

Daisy Chain Baby -- Part II {Star Blocks} from Little Bunny Quilts

The best thing about baby quilt is how quickly they start coming together! This week I have been working on the star blocks of my Daisy Chain baby quilt.

For the stars, I am using the pink large scale floral print.

The star points are all "ribbon blocks" as I like to call them.

Now my five star blocks are all finished and the top of my quilt is ready to be assembled!

I'll need to start thinking about ordering a backing for this as I know I don't have anything on hand at the moment that will ...

Daisy Chain Baby -- Part II {New Project} from Little Bunny Quilts

With a bunch of friends having babies in 2020, it's time to start making baby quilts!

The first quilt I have on my list is for a baby girl that's due in July. I made my baby sized Daisy Chain quilt for her older sister two years ago so I thought it would be a perfect choice to make the new baby the same quilt in different colors!

I pulled out a bag of fabrics left over from a quilt that I made last year (that I haven't gotten to show off yet!) that was a mish-mash ...
